About this programme
Graduate outcomes: Strathclyde ranked joint 1st in Scotland HESA Graduate Outcomes results 2026 Ranked: 6th in the UK for Law (The Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide 2027) International experience: year abroad studying at one of our partner institutions in Spain The Law School at Strathclyde is one of Scotland’s leading providers of legal education. We are home to the country’s biggest student-run law clinic, which offers a unique, real-world, learning environment. With more than 500 million native speakers, Spanish is the second most commonly spoken language in the world. Speaking Spanish will help you conduct business more confidently in countries that are becoming increasingly important in world markets. Studying with us will give you the chance to become a fluent linguist and, with our year abroad programme, an opportunity to experience living, working and/or studying in another country. All of our LLB graduates satisfy the professional requirements of the Law Society of Scotland and the Faculty of Advocates to proceed to the post-degree stages of professional training required to become a practising lawyer in Scotland. As an Honours student, you'll take two optional classes in Law as well as write an 11,000-word law dissertation. Formal lectures are replaced by seminars in the final year. In addition, you will take the following two compulsory classes in Spanish Written Language and Spanish Spoken Language. Strathclyde’s Law Clinic is run by students for members of the public who cannot afford a lawyer and are not eligible for legal aid.
