About this programme

Graduate outcomes: Strathclyde ranked joint 1st in Scotland HESA Graduate Outcomes results 2026 Flexible degree: apply once and choose from 11 named degree routes at the end of Year 2 Study biochemistry, immunology, microbiology and pharmacology before choosing the degree route that best matches your interests. With a flexible course structure, hands-on laboratory experience and research-led teaching, you'll build the scientific knowledge and practical skills needed for a range of careers in the biosciences. Biomolecular sciences explore how living systems work and how that knowledge is applied in health, disease, medicine, biotechnology and industry. In Years 1 and 2, you'll study all four disciplines through laboratory work, lectures, tutorials and workshops: Studying all four disciplines before you specialise helps you understand how different areas of science connect. Whether exploring infection, cancer or other health challenges, you'll examine problems from multiple scientific perspectives before choosing the degree route that best fits your interests. This broad foundation helps you understand where the disciplines overlap and make an informed choice about your specialism. Our BSc Honours routes are Joint Honours degrees, allowing you to combine two of biochemistry, immunology, microbiology and pharmacology. Alternatively, you can transfer to our professionally accredited Biomedical Science degree or, if eligible, choose an integrated MSci route specialising in one of the four disciplines.
