About this programme
Combine your passions for mathematics and sport at the world’s number one university for sport-related subjects. Deepen your understanding of mathematics, the human body and how mathematics connects with physical applications with BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Sport Science - at the world's number one university for sports-related subjects. Our BSc Mathematics and Sport Science degree is equally divided between two disciplines that perfectly complement one another. While sport science provides the physiological and biomechanical context of human performance, mathematics offers the rigorous framework needed to optimise efficiency and predict injury risks. By transforming physical potential into predictable results, this unique combination offers a competitive edge not widely available at other institutions. It is taught in collaboration with the internationally renowned School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences. Over the course you will build a solid foundation in the essential areas of both mathematics and sports science. As you progress through our BSc Mathematics and Sport Science degree, you’ll have the opportunity to tailor the course to suit your interest by selecting from a range of optional mathematics modules. Let BSc Mathematics and Management student Emma tell you about the “Loughborough Experience”, including the employability-enhancing skills she’s gaining from the Department of Mathematical Sciences. Doing a joint honours course (especially with two completely different subjects) keeps my week interesting.
