About this programme

Studying Sport Management at Liverpool Hope University gives you the chance to explore how sport organisations, events and businesses operate. Based at Hope Park, this degree blends business, leadership and sport ‑ specific knowledge to help you understand how modern sport is managed in an increasingly digital and global world. You’ll learn how clubs, governing bodies, community organisations and commercial sport brands make decisions, develop strategies and create impact. With opportunities for work placements, volunteering and industry engagement, you’ll gain real experience that employers value. Small ‑ group teaching means you’re supported personally, helping you build confidence, communication skills and professional awareness. If you’re passionate about sport but want a career beyond playing or coaching, Sport Management gives you the business, organisational and leadership skills needed to succeed in Liverpool’s thriving sport sector and beyond. You will be taught in lectures, workshops and seminars, and small-group tutorials. You will also take part in a field trip to the University’s outdoor education centre in Snowdonia National Park, Wales. Your assessments will be varied, and suited to all learning styles. Alongside essays, reports and exams, there will be practical work, presentations, debates and problem-solving activities. Written feedback will be provided for all assessments. Tutors are also happy to discuss feedback points with students in one-to-one meetings. This module explores the coaching, teaching, management and business of sport. Students deve
