About this programme
Law and criminology help us understand some of society's most complex questions: how laws shape people's lives, why crime happens, and how justice is delivered. At Oxford Brookes, you'll build a strong foundation in the law of England and Wales while exploring crime, punishment and the criminal justice system through contemporary criminological perspectives. You'll develop the practical skills and critical understanding needed to analyse legal issues within their wider social context. Through mooting, client interviewing, pro bono projects and our LawID programme , you'll gain real-world experience and explore where your interests could take you – whether that's legal practice, policing, policy, advocacy, community work or the wider criminal justice sector. All within an ambitious and supportive learning community that will challenge you to think critically, act with integrity and make a difference. Through LawID, you'll gain experiences, connections and support to develop skills and explore careers across law, criminal justice, policy and public service. Build practical skills through mooting, client interviewing, pro bono work and community legal projects - working on issues that matter. Combine legal study with criminological perspectives to explore crime, punishment, policing and social change. Investigate issues including digital crime, criminal psychology, human rights, security and emerging technologies. Join an ambitious and inclusive community that encourages critical thinking, confidence and active citizenship.
