About this programme
Our Politics and International Relations BA is designed for students who see politics as a multilayered, interconnected system, who want to interrogate its fractures, and imagine its futures. Politics doesn’t stop at borders, and neither does this degree: you will explore everything from elections and political theory to global governance, international law, and the ethics of world politics. This degree will take you from Westminster to the world. The programme will expand your knowledge of political ideas, practices, and institutions, while exploring the challenges facing states and citizens under conditions of global uncertainty. You will learn to interrogate politics across different scales and systems, from the local to the global, while acquiring the critical and analytical skills with which to understand major political events and emerging trends. We are in the centre of one of the world’s greatest cities, and we use this vibrant, multicultural setting to ensure that our students discover innovative solutions to the problems facing our world. We make the most of our location by taking you out of the classroom on visits to the Houses of Parliament, government departments, NGOs, and museums. With excellent links to employers, you will apply your learning to professional settings from the very start of your degree, developing transferable skills needed for long-term personal and professional growth.
