About this programme
Expand your horizons; gain experience with study abroad options or a professional placement. Learn from leading institutions through our links to government, police, probation and prisons. Study crime in one of the best UK universities (The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2026). Our BSc in Criminology focuses on criminalisation, victimisation, and social responses to crime and disorder which you'll explore from sociological and political perspectives. You'll draw on a range of social science perspectives including sociology, law and history, combining theories and insights beyond criminology to understand crime and how it’s controlled. Examine how to approach problems of crime as a social scientist before applying your new research-driven skills to real-world issues and debates, preparing you for a career in community safety, crime reduction, policy, or further research. We accept a combination of A-levels and other qualifications, as well as acceptable alternative international qualifications subject to entry requirements. Typical offers are as follows: Extended/International Project Qualification: Applicants with grade A in the EPQ/IPQ will typically receive an offer one grade lower than the standard offer.
