About this programme
Expand your horizons; gain experience with study abroad options or a professional placement. Learn from leading institutions through our links to government, police, probation and prisons. Become a social scientist by exploring how criminology and social policy combine and collide with our BSc in Criminology and Social Policy. Investigate criminological themes like criminalisation, victimisation and social responses to crime and disorder in combination with social policy – studying how societies respond to human needs across the globe and how they seek to promote wellbeing across their population. Explore a range of social science perspectives and investigate sociological and political attitudes towards crime and its control, along with debates on the goals of social policy. How do we decide what human needs are and whose responsibility is it to meet those needs? We accept a combination of A-levels and other qualifications, as well as acceptable alternative international qualifications subject to entry requirements. Typical offers are as follows: Extended/International Project Qualification: Applicants with grade A in the EPQ/IPQ will typically receive an offer one grade lower than the standard offer. Please note that any subject specific requirements must still be met. From September 2023, there will be a new qualification called the Advanced Skills Baccalaureate Wales (level 3). This qualification will replace the Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate (Welsh Baccalaureate). The qualification will continue to be accepted in lieu of one A-Level (at the grades listed
