About this programme
The government has outlined new funding for nursing, midwifery and other allied health professions courses. UK/EU students at English universities will receive up to £8,000 with a minimum of £5,000 a year in funding. The University of Bradford and Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust have joined together to offer a Harrogate Pathway with the aim to recruit locally and therefore develop a sustainable workforce. This programme is designed to help local people in the Harrogate area begin a career in nursing, particularly those with existing commitments or dependants. Teaching takes place on our Bradford city campus, with placements across Harrogate and other locations. While there may be opportunities for placements in the Harrogate area, you will also gain experience across a range of NHS trusts and social care settings. The pathway provides a route into future employment opportunities and can be advantageous when applying for roles. You'll already be familiar with Trust policies and processes and have an established working relationship with existing staff. We now accept NVQ Level 3 in any subject - you must be currently be working in a health environment as a healthcare assistant, support worker or carer with 2 years’ work experience. This course is approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as the statutory body and regulator of nursing and midwifery healthcare professions. At Bradford, we take into consideration a number of factors when assessing your application. Below outlines the typical entry requirements for this course. If you’re not sure an
