If you're returning to education or didn't study Maths at A level, spend your first year developing your maths and physics knowledge to prepare for degree-level engineering study. Choose the engineering degree that's right for you. Successfully complete the Foundation Year and progress onto BEng Engineering or one of our specialist BEng courses. High achievement can also give you the opportunity to transfer onto an MEng and work towards a Master's-level qualification. Group projects at this stage allow you to put into practice your learning to produce something tangible while improving your team working and communication skills. Develop skills for a wide range of careers. Build practical experience in the electronics lab alongside transferable and professional skills, preparing you to succeed across different engineering sectors and progress into management roles. You'll work as a project team to design, prototype, and validate a working embedded system. You'll demonstrate hands‑on engineering, collaborative problem‑solving, and industry‑ready technical depth, giving you a flagship piece of work that strengthens placement and graduate applications.
