Bachelor of Theology – Biblical Care & Counselling Ministries

About this programme

Pastors carry significant responsibility in caring for the spiritual and emotional needs of their congregations along with the many other demands of ministry. The four-year Bachelor of Theology – Biblical Care & Counselling Ministries degree prepares you for the preaching and teaching of God’s Word with an increased focus on pastoral care. You will study the Bible and theology as well as biblical languages and preaching practices, develop skills in applying Scripture to counselling practices, and apply those skills in practicums led by qualified biblical counsellors. It is further suggested that students have an additional grade 12 “U” level English course and a grade 12 “U” level History course. Students who wish to pursue a degree at Heritage but do not meet the Academic requirements may be placed into the Track to Degree program. Applicants who are homeschooled may submit test scores from either the SAT or the CLT (Classic Learning Test). For admission to a degree, Heritage requires an SAT score of 950 out of 1600 or 1420 out of 2400. Heritage requires an overall score of 60 or above on the CLT for entrance to a degree; scores for each of the three sections (verbal reasoning, grammar/writing, and quantitative reasoning) may also be considered. Applicants who have scored below 950 on the SAT or 60 on the CLT may be considered on a case-by-case basis for admission to a certificate.
