About this programme
In this program, you’ll explore how Canada’s justice system works, what drives crime and how to help build equitable and restorative approaches to community safety. Learn to communicate effectively, resolve conflict, understand diverse perspectives and contribute to justice-related work in meaningful ways in Alberta and beyond. This two‑year program prepares you for front‑line roles in policing, restorative justice, corrections, youth work, community safety, conflict resolution, victim services , and more. It also serves as a strong pathway into further university study. Your courses will blend theory, practical skills and hands‑on experience to help you understand how justice systems function and where you can make a difference. Throughout the program, you will connect with professionals in the justice system and in your final term, you’ll complete either a Practicum or a Capstone project , depending on your interests and eligibility. Students selected for a practicum complete a placement with a justice‑related organization, gaining real‑world experience, networking opportunities and professional insight. Space in the practicum is limited and selection is based on GPA and seat availability. Past practicums have included: All students are guaranteed a Capstone pathway if not placed in a practicum.
