About this programme
The Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma integrates applied and theoretical engineering approaches in preparation for careers in high-demand industry sectors. You’ll study how machines move, how heat transfers, and how to optimize systems for safety, efficiency, and sustainability. Whether you're analyzing stress points in a structure or programming CNC equipment, you’ll be solving problems that matter. As you progress, you’ll take on more complex design projects, explore automation and robotics, and learn how to communicate technical ideas clearly and confidently . You’ll also build the skills to work on multidisciplinary teams - because in the real world, collaboration drives innovation. Graduate ready to apply high-level problem-solving skills to design, develop, evaluate, modify, and optimize products and processes associated with mechanical machines, systems, and processes. With career experience, you can also become a Certified Engineering Technologist and, with additional specialized experience, a Professional Technologist . This RDP program is accredited by Technology Accreditation Canada and recognized across Canada by Engineering Technologist professional organizations, such as the Association of Science & Engineering Professionals of Alberta. This program can be taken on-campus either full- or part-time. Most courses take place on-campus during the day, but there may be a few evening options.
