About this programme

At UFV, the Economics Department is powered by a dynamic team of professors and students leading impactful research. Decode and dissect global systems, make informed decisions, and unravel knots with the expertise and opportunities offered by UFV Economics! Develop analytical thinking to understand and communicate complex economic issues from individuals to nations. In the first two years, study micro and macroeconomics, evaluating influences on economic issues. In later years, enhance critical thinking, explore international markets and consumer demands. An Economics minor complements degrees in law, business, government, or non-profit work. In the first and second years, explore economics related to individuals, families, businesses, and nations. Later, choose three upper-level courses from law and labour economics to environment and transportation. Economics…it’s much more than just finance, banking, business or government. A degree in economics provides you with practical knowledge that you can apply in a variety of interesting careers. Watch this video from the American Economic Association to hear about the stories of four diverse individuals who have experienced the power of economics to help identify and solve society's problems in fields as varied as medicine, public policy, digital media, and more.
