About this programme
History, Memory and Orality in the 20th Century Master programme (Ma/ MSc) Faculty of History and Philosophy CLUJ-NAPOCA Program description The 20th century offers an extensive range of historic phenomena and events with multiple reverberations tied up both to progress and trauma, to modernizations and cataclysms. The complexity of the century is amplified by the multitude of classic and modern historical sources. We add to those, one that stands different from any other: memory. A living memory affected by the tumultuous century. The program aims to train and educate future trainers (teachers of secondary education) in an interdisciplinary manner, suitable for the ongoing mutations occurring in the fields of historical knowledge. On the other hand, the Master's program aims to initiate and strengthen from epistemological and methodological perspectives the new generation of researchers in the area of contemporary history. Courses and seminars are covering a variety of consecrated approaches as also the new entrants in curricular and research. Comparative historical problems of transition, migration, social policies, oral history and memory are some of them.
