About this programme
History and Social Anthropology of the Modern Times Master programme (Ma/ MSc) Faculty of History and Philosophy CLUJ-NAPOCA Program description The historic anthropology is a research direction that puts to work two great domains from the human sciences: history and anthropology. That translates into a type of historic research much more sensitive to the working methods of the anthropologist (the oral enquiry) and research objects until recently specific only to anthropology (kinship, body, holidays, etc.). In other words: an anthropologized history. The History and Social Anthropology of the Modern Era MA programme aims to familiarize the student with anthropology first of all, with its topics and research methods, subsidiary with the modern directions of the contemporary historic research. The courses and seminars intend to form specialists in the new headings of modern and contemporary research, but especially, experts opened to the interdisciplinary dialogue that the 20th century historiography has formed with the other socio-human disciplines.
