About this programme
The aim of the course is for you to secure your theoretical and practical knowledge in the Latvian language and to gain experience in the scientific process. In addition you will gain good knowledge in Latvian literary history as well as an introduction to folklore. The course covers Latvian morphology and syntax, classical Latvian literature from the 19th and 20th centuries within a cultural-historical context, and guidance in writing and evaluating a scholarly text. The course also includes an independent project worth 15 ECTS credits, which corresponds to the requirement for a bachelor’s thesis. Teaching is conducted in the form of group exercises, lectures, seminars, and supervision. The course can be taken either remotely or on campus, depending on the specific session. The principles for combining the individual assessment tasks are outlined in the grading criteria. Examinations are conducted in Latvian. For the Bachelor’s Thesis, the examination can be conducted in Swedish, English, Latvian, or Lithuanian. If a student has a certificate with a recommendation for special educational support due to a disability, the examiner has the right to provide an adapted exam or allow the student to take the exam in an alternative format. To follow your passion. To be close to international career opportunities. To explore city and countryside. In Stockholm you can really get the best of both worlds. Here we explain all the different steps you need to go through when applying to a course or programme.
