Oral Presentations in Academic English

About this programme

This course is designed to meet the needs of students in diverse disciplines and provide them with the skills necessary to: (a) actively participate in seminar discussions, (b) present their arguments in a convincing manner, and (c) participate in international conferences and other events. In this course we will work with strategies to tie together different parts of a presentation, review organisational patterns and provide the students with communicative strategies needed in order to attract the audience’s attention and to convey the content of their presentation effectively. More detailed course information will be available to registered students on the learning platform Canvas. The teaching comprises seminars on Zoom. Attendance at all teaching sessions is mandatory. Two seminars at the most can be compensated with a replacement assignment. Students will often work with different tasks and assignments during the teaching sessions in preparation for the examination. Apart from scheduled teaching, time will be spent reading course literature and completing mandatory assignments. To follow your passion. To be close to international career opportunities.
