About this programme
The course sheds light on gender and sexual diversity in both modern and pre-modern East Asian environments, and it examines related floating identities mainly through examples from literature, performing arts, art history and popular media. In doing so, the course examines the cultural features that seemingly resemble transnational phenomenas, while undermining essentialist determinism and the dominance of modern Western models. Course details, planning and literature for Spring semester 2025 can be found in the learning platform Athena Please note that only registred students have access to downloadable resources, like PDF documents, in Athena. The course is examined through a digital take-home exam at the end of the course. To follow your passion. To be close to international career opportunities. To explore city and countryside.
