About this programme

UCAS Course code: C810. This course will run subject to validation by the University of East Anglia. Psychology shapes everything that we do, as well as the world around us; it is therefore a vital discipline across many professional contexts. The fundamental aim of the BSc (Hons) Applied Psychology programme is to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to pursue careers in psychology-related disciplines such as healthcare, education, sport, and forensics. This programme focuses on three core disciplinary strands of psychology, employability, and research methods. Employability is central to the design of the programme, and students will have the opportunity to undertake modules focused on various applied strands of psychology. Students will also undertake a mandatory work placement within year 2 of their studies, allowing them to apply the skills they have learned to the workplace environment and experience how psychology shapes professional disciplines. This programme follows the British Psychological Society (BPS) GBC curriculum, but is not accredited by the BPS at present. Graduates wishing to progress in psychology can undertake a BPS conversion award through an accredited institution which will provide an opportunity to become eligible for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC). By gaining this you will be eligible to apply for a place on a society-accredited postgraduate training programme and in time progress to gaining Chartered Membership (CPsychol) of the Society. Your programme leader will be able to advise of accredited programme
