About this programme
Our BSc in Artificial Intelligence will provide you with a comprehensive and cutting-edge understanding of AI theory and practice. AI significantly affects people’s lives, and it is encountered in more and more of our daily activities. These include activities such as using smart devices, digital voice assistants, and travel aids, as well as banking online or receiving personalised recommendations about movies to rent. Our programme is structured around AI's core dimensions, including the foundations of AI, data science and Machine Learning. You’ll study reasoning, interactions and autonomous agents including robotics. You'll also gain a deep understanding of the ethics and philosophy of AI and its shifting role in society through exploring the social, legal, and professional dimensions. Throughout your degree, you’ll apply your skillset to tackle complex projects inspired by real-world industry problems. This could include working with an external company on developing a tech solution to an industry problem in your third year. You can also choose to study for our integrated Master’s course (MSci), adding a fourth year to your degree during which you’ll undertake a substantial project. You can either choose from a wide range of advanced topics in cutting-edge computer science, or join our unique programme with Amazon Web Services, working as a team to deliver innovative digital solutions that leverage AWS technology for public sector clients. This degree has been accredited by BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT. Accreditation is a mark of assurance that the degree meets
