The main intake starts in September. For example, the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship call for 2026/27 had an application deadline of 15 January 2026 for studies starting in September 2026.
Deadlines for self-funded applications vary by university.
For example, the University of Debrecen lists 2026/27 fees for international students of USD 7,000 per year for Computer Science BSc, USD 8,000 for Pharmacy (PharmD), USD 16,900 for Medicine (MD) and USD 17,500 for Dentistry (DMD), plus a non-refundable application fee of USD 150.
According to the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing, holders of a study residence permit may generally work up to 30 hours a week during their studies, and full-time outside the study period for up to 90 days a year.
Graduates holding a valid study residence permit may generally apply for a residence permit to seek a job or start a business. It is valid for up to 9 months and cannot be extended.
The National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing does not set a fixed amount for a study residence permit. Students must prove the means of subsistence, accommodation and health insurance needed for their stay.
We help students explore Hungarian institutions and suitable programmes based on their academic backgrounds and career goals.
Our support includes admission guidance, application document preparation, information about institutional requirements and guidance through the relevant residence permit process.
We aim to help students make informed decisions and prepare for their international education journey.
