Studying in Lithuania: the essentials

01About these institutions

These institutions have different academic profiles, programme offerings and admission requirements. Students should check each institution's official website before applying.

02Intakes and Application Periods

Lithuanian institutions offer different admission periods depending on their academic calendars and programmes. Autumn admission is common, while some institutions and programmes also offer spring intake.

Application deadlines, document requirements and entrance assessments should be checked individually.

03Tuition Fees and Scholarships

Tuition fees depend on the institution, degree level and chosen programme. Students should compare annual tuition fees, application fees and any additional charges before making a decision.

Some institutions may offer scholarships or tuition discounts to eligible applicants. These are subject to institutional rules and availability.

Students should also prepare a realistic budget for accommodation, food, transport, insurance and other living costs.

04Working While Studying

International students may have opportunities to work while studying, but applicable rules depend on their residence status, study level and current Lithuanian regulations.

Students should verify their work rights with the relevant official authorities before accepting employment. Part-time work should not be treated as a guaranteed source of income.
