Bachelor of Commerce in Operations Management

About this programme

Students should study Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM) because it lies at the heart of how organizations function. Every business, whether in manufacturing, healthcare, retail, or services, depends on efficient operations to deliver value to customers. Understanding OSCM equips students with the tools to improve productivity, reduce costs, ensure quality, and enhance customer satisfaction—key drivers of organizational success. Beyond efficiency and innovation, OSCM is also central to pressing challenges like sustainability and ethical sourcing. In today’s interconnected world, supply chains stretch across countries and continents. Studying OSCM helps students grasp the complexities of global sourcing, logistics, inventory management, and supplier relationships. This knowledge is increasingly relevant as companies face challenges such as supply disruptions, geopolitical risks, and shifting consumer expectations. Students learn not only how to optimize internal operations and supply networks but also how to build resilience into them. The demand for professionals with OSCM expertise continues to grow. Organizations across industries are seeking graduates who can streamline operations, manage data, and lead improvement initiatives. Career opportunities span roles such as supply chain analyst, operations manager, logistics coordinator, and procurement specialist. With the rise of digital tools and advanced analytics, OSCM roles also offer a strong technical dimension, requiring both analytical thinking and strategic insight.
