About this programme

This course introduces students to landscape analysis within the field of people-environment studies, focusing on how landscapes are experienced, used, and understood by different target groups. The students develop both practical skills in performing and communicating landscape analysis and an understanding of how such methods can support research and planning for environments that promote health and well-being. Throughout the course, students work individually and collaboratively through seminars, discussions, and written assignments, combining theoretical reflection with practical application. The course is structured in three stages: 1) a literature review of key concepts and research, 2) the development of analytical tools and methods through a pilot study, and 3) the testing and comparison of these tools in relation to different landscapes and user perspectives.
