The course aims at providing in-depth knowledge and understanding of technologies and systems for supply, handling and utilisation of biofuels. - 120 credits, of which 70 credits in Technology/Technique, including 5 credits thermochemical conversion - 5 credits in Biology - Knowledge equivalent to English 5 from Swedish Upper Secondary School Finalized by: PN - NJ, 2019-11-27 Valid from : Spring semester 2021 (2021-01-18) The grade requirements within the course grading system are set out in specific criteria. These criteria must be available by the course start at the latest. - 120 credits, of which 70 credits in Technology/Technique, including 5 credits thermochemical conversion - 5 credits in Biology - Knowledge equivalent to English 5 from Swedish Upper Secondary School The course aims at providing in-depth knowledge and understanding of technologies and systems for supply, handling and utilisation of biofuels. The course content is divided into three parts; solid biofuels, liquid biofuels and biogas, which cover the supply chain from source to end user including primary production, harvest techniques, logistics systems, characteristics of raw materials, upgrading and marketing aspects. Lectures are given regarding the different steps in the supply chain, production and different assortments of biofuel, fuel quality and use of biofuels as well as environmental impact of bioenergy systems. Calculation tasks are performed regarding production, characterisation and use of biofuels as well as dimensioning of a bioenergy plant based on amount and characteristics of bio
