About this programme
Criminology is the study of crime, why people commit it, and how society responds. On this course, you'll explore real-world issues like policing, justice, punishment, and social inequality. At Lincoln, you'll connect what you learn to real careers from the start - developing the skills employers in policing, criminal justice, policy, and social services are actively looking for. If you're curious about crime, want to understand how the system works, and are considering a career where you can make an impact, this course gives you a clear and supported path forward. This course opened me up to a whole range of criminological theories that meant when I was doing the assessments I was expanding how I understood those topics in our current landscape, but also what could be done in the future. Career-focused from the start Build skills in analysis, communication, and critical thinking that employers value across multiple sectors. Real-world relevance Explore current issues like cybercrime, policing, rehabilitation, and inequality - not just textbook theory. Flexible career pathways Prepare for roles in policing, probation, youth justice, government, or further study like law or social work. Supportive learning environment Smaller class sizes and accessible lecturers mean you’re known, supported, and guided throughout your degree. Develop transferable skills Graduate with the ability to research, evaluate evidence, and communicate complex ideas clearly. These skills open doors beyond criminology.
