About this programme
Why do democracies elect leaders who undermine them? Why do some protests change everything and others nothing? What determines who gets power, who keeps it, and who pays for it? Politics at King's teaches you to answer questions like these with evidence. You will study political theory, comparative politics, and world politics in depth, taught by internationally renowned experts with active research agendas in the areas you will be studying. This unique combination of rigorous qualitative and quantitative analysis is what sets our graduates apart. The ability to build an argument and test it against the data is exactly what government agencies, consultancies, international organisations, and top graduate schools recruit for. If you study BA/BSc Politics at King’s, you will learn in one of the UK's leading centres for the study of Political Economy— in a university ranked 4th in the UK and 11th in the world for Politics (QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026). You will be based on The Strand in central London, a short walk from Westminster, Whitehall, and the institutions you are studying. Our recent graduates have gone on to roles at the European Parliament, the House of Commons, the Foreign Office, the United Nations, Deloitte, and Citigroup, and to graduate study at other world-class universities such as Cambridge, Oxford, LSE, Columbia, Georgetown, and Sciences Po. Strand Campus sits along the Thames at London's cultural heart. Alongside world-class teaching spaces, students enjoy access to the pedestrianised Strand Quad, with Somerset House and iconic landm
