About this programme
Our Mathematics MSci will give you a broad and rigorous education across a wide range of mathematics. You will develop a strong foundation in core areas before choosing from a wide selection of optional modules. In your final year you will cover more ground than the BSc course, allowing you to gain a deeper understanding of the subject. In addition you will undertake a substantial project in your final year to develop the skills you will need for further research or the world of work. This course leads to careers where mathematics is used technically, including industrial and academic research and finance, but will also suit those who wish to deepen their undergraduate studies. You will spend your third year gaining valuable work experience with a year-long placement at a UK company before returning to complete your final two years with us. Finding an industry placement will require students to be resourceful and engaged. The Faculty has dedicated placement support providing advice and host employer-led events, ensuring you have all the tools to secure the right placement for you. The Department of Mathematics at King’s College London has a long and distinguished history as a world-leading centre for research and education. By joining us, you will learn from and work alongside some of the foremost mathematical minds in the world.
