About this programme

This program offers hands-on experiences at every stage of computer animation and visual effects, from initial concept to the final render. Through a wide range of courses, including storyboarding, design, colour scripts, modelling, sculpting, rigging, lighting and rendering, you'll explore multiple specializations while developing expertise where you shine. You also have the flexibility to study fully online or fully in-person at our main campus in Red Deer. You’ll start creating in your very first week. With classes that bridge art fundamentals with technical production , you'll be able to understand both the creative decisions and the pipeline behind them. Every course is designed to help you think like an artist and work like a pro. You’ll also receive an industry-ready computer and drawing tablet through a lease-to-own model , giving you the tools you need at home and on campus to keep producing high-quality work. In Year Three , you'll collaborate with peers on a real-world project, with guidance from an instructor. Your project course mirrors real production: teamwork, deadlines, feedback cycles and problem-solving. There are no formal classes in Year 4. Instead, you’ll spend the full year focused on: This year mirrors an actual studio workflow, helping you graduate with a polished, employer‑ready reel. Your instructors include working animators and VFX artists who know current pipelines, software and studio expectations.
