About this programme

As an engineer, you'll learn how to apply the principles of science and mathematics to solve problems that make a real impact in the world. Engineers require a creative mind, scientific knowledge and powerful problem-solving skills. Start your engineering journey with a strong first‑year foundation in chemistry, physics, calculus, programming and hands‑on engineering design. You’ll explore real engineering problems through statics, dynamics, computer programming and design projects, while sharpening essential communication and teamwork skills. This balanced mix of physics, chemistry, math, design and programming sets you up for success as you transfer into second‑year engineering at the University of Alberta . This program is built for students who want to work towards their Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation and take on the responsibility, leadership and impact that come with it. If you want to combine productivity and purpose by turning ideas into real solutions, this transfer program helps you build the skills, experience and knowledge to lead major projects and contribute to Alberta’s growing industries. The courses in this program can be transferred in full to the University of Alberta's Bachelor of Science in Engineering program. Students who will apply to the University of Alberta must take the full first year in one academic year. Other institutions across the country may also accept some of your credits. You will need to contact the institution you're interested in transferring to to confirm.
