Indonesia study visa from Bangladesh: E30B visa and e-visa tracking

Bangladesh is not on the list of countries whose citizens can use Indonesia's visa on arrival (e-VOA), so a Bangladeshi student has to get a visa before travelling 1.
The study visa
Indonesia's education visa is the Visa Pendidikan, code E30. Under it, E30B is higher education (Pendidikan Tinggi). E30A covers primary and secondary education, E30E covers special economic zones and E30F is for student exchange 2. The older code C316 is not on the current official list 2.
E30B covers bachelor, master and doctoral study. You choose a stay of 1, 2 or 4 years, counted from arrival 4. A sponsor is required: either a person or your university. The sponsor needs an account on evisa.imigrasi.go.id and uploads your documents there 4. Immigration says it processes the visa within five working days after payment 4.
The documents, uploaded as PDF or JPEG, are 4:
- a passport valid for at least six months
- bank statements for the last three months, in your or your sponsor's name, showing at least USD 2,000
- a colour photo taken within the past year
- a CV and an itinerary
- proof of sponsorship
- the admission letter stating how long the programme lasts
The government fee is Rp 6,000,000 for one year, Rp 8,500,000 for two years and Rp 12,000,000 for four years. The one-year total is made up of the visa (Rp 500,000), the limited stay permit (Rp 3,000,000), the re-entry permit (Rp 1,500,000) and a first verification fee (Rp 1,000,000) 4.
Online application and tracking
Online visas are requested at evisa.imigrasi.go.id 1. For the Visa Online route, the immigration FAQ lists a passport bio page valid at least six months from arrival (JPG or PNG, up to 200 kb), a passport-size photo, an email address and a valid Mastercard, Visa or JCB card 1. These are the general Visa Online documents, not a student-only list.
The e-visa site has a "Tracking Application" page. It asks for a Register Number, a passport number and a choice between Visa and Stay Permit 3. What the page shows afterwards is not published. Ask the Indonesian embassy handling your application how to file locally.
