Lebanon student visa for Bangladeshis: General Security authorization
Last checked against official sources on
Lebanon's General Security lists Bangladesh under its Seventh Article, "Entry of citizens from countries exporting workers", in the third and fourth category. For that category, "The interested party should receive a previous authorization emitted by the general security" 1. Bangladesh is not named in the visa-free or automatic-visa articles 1.
Student visa
The General Directorate of General Security decides. Lebanese missions abroad can grant visas only with its authorization, and the applicant fills the form at the embassy 2. Which mission serves Bangladesh is not confirmed from an official source. The student visa page lists 2:
- an admission statement from a university or institution accredited in Lebanon, or a student card
- proof of sufficient funds to pay for studies (scholarship and grant holders are exempt from both)
- a certified passport copy valid at least 6 months
- the application form filled at the embassy, plus an ID photo
- documents in Arabic, French or English
A student visa is not renewable and cannot become a work visa without an official decision by the Director General 2. The page gives no fee or processing time 2.
An exclusion that may apply
A separate General Security page, about students in religions, volunteers and missionaries, says only certain nationalities are "temporarily excluded" for security concerns, and the list includes Bangladesh 3. That page covers religious students, and it does not say whether the same exclusion applies to ordinary university students 3. Ask General Security, whose site lists the hotline 1717, before you apply 3.
Lebanon has no online status tracker on the pages read, so keep your embassy receipt and ask the embassy to confirm the stage of your file.
