Mongolia visa from Bangladesh: e-visa limits, E3/E4 study permission and Application ID
Last checked against official sources on
Mongolia's e-visa does not cover study. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs consular site says the e-visa is only for K2 (tourist), K4 (sports, culture, arts, film and content creation) and K6 (transit) 1. Students apply at the nearest Embassy of Mongolia, with a visa permission that the Immigration Agency issues to the inviting person or organisation 1.
Bangladesh and the e-visa
Bangladesh is on the e-visa eligible countries list on the evisa.mn home page, listed separately from the visa-free countries, and the application form's nationality list includes it 26. No Mongolian mission in Bangladesh was confirmed, and we do not know which mission accepts applications from people living in Bangladesh 2.
The study visa
The Immigration Agency of Mongolia issues the visa permission, and the visa itself is then issued by the Mongolian embassy or consulate where you apply 45. The permission category is E3 for stays up to 90 days and E4 for more than 91 days 45. The inviting party applies, not the student 4.
The school sends an official request that states the area of study, where you will receive the visa, and the length of stay. The agency also asks for 4:
- The organisation's state registration certificate and any special licence.
- A copy of your passport valid at least 180 days before travel.
- Proof of funds, either the tuition fee or a legal entity paying for you.
- A medical examination taken within 3 months.
- The payment receipt and the completed online form.
The permission takes 5 working days as standard and 3 if expedited. It stays valid for 60 days after issue 4. The fee is 2,500 MNT standard or 5,000 MNT expedited, per person 5.
At the embassy, you need a completed form, an original passport valid at least six months, a 3.5 x 4.5 cm photo, the Immigration Agency permission and proof you paid the non-refundable visa fee. All documents must be hard copies 1. The embassy fee schedule is not confirmed.
Once in Mongolia, you must register with the Immigration Agency within 7 days 2. Short-term visitors on an E4 permission must apply for a residence permit within 21 days after entry 5. Biometrics are taken at the border, and accommodation providers must register foreigners online within 48 hours 1.
A refusal is notified by email. You can apply again after 30 days, or 180 days if documents were forged or the visa was obtained by a false declaration 5.
How to check your status
The e-visa check is at evisa.mn/en/check 3. You enter your Application ID, which is sent to your email after payment, and the captcha (picture code). Then you press the "Check Visa Status" button 3. The page shows no status wording before you run a check, so we cannot list the results.
This check is for e-visa applications. A study permission is handled by the Immigration Agency, so ask the inviting school for its progress 14. For e-visas, delivery by email within 72 hours is stated 1.
Keep your Application ID from the payment email for the status check above.
