Namibia study permit from Bangladesh: documents and timing
Last checked against official sources on
Namibia's Ministry of Home Affairs decides study permit applications, and the documents are processed in Namibia, not at the embassy 1. You need this approval before you enter the country 1. A Namibian embassy page gives the processing time as 2 to 3 months, and says it can run to 4 months if documents are incomplete 1.
Documents
The embassy lists these for a study permit and visa 1:
- forms 3-1/0001 and 3-1/0033, signed
- a passport copy and two passport photos
- an original medical certificate and an original chest X-ray (radiological) report
- a deed of surety (a signed guarantee)
- police clearance from Bangladesh, and from your last country of residence, if you are 18 or older
- your previous qualifications
- a motivation letter on why you chose Namibia, plus proof of registration with your institution
- proof of medical aid or travel insurance, and of accommodation in Namibia
All papers must be in English and certified 1. If refused, an appeal costs N$200 1. The page does not name the mission that serves Bangladesh, so ask your institution which embassy to use.
Namibia publishes no online student tracker; ask the ministry or your institution about your file.
