Check your Nepalvisa application status.

The Embassy of Nepal in Dhaka now issues an eTA instead of visa stickers or handwritten visas, and says processing takes two working days ¹. An eTA is an electronic travel authorisation. You apply online, and the embassy accepts applications Sunday to Thursday, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm ¹. The embassy page also says foreign nationals may apply for a tourist visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu or other designated entry points ¹.

Tourist fees

From 1 April 2026 the embassy lists these eTA fees: TK 3,630 for 15 days multiple entry, TK 6,050 for 30 days, and TK 15,125 for 90 days ¹. The page says the first tourist visa in each visa year (January to December) is free for SAARC nationals ¹. It also says applications with wrong details or missing documents will not be accepted ¹.

Studying in Nepal

The embassy visa page has no separate study category. For students it asks for a valid student ID card or a recommendation letter from the college or university ¹. The study visa itself is listed by Nepal's Department of Immigration, which decides that category ¹². Its document list for the Study visa is ²:

• a Ministry of Education recommendation
• the original admission receipt
• a bank statement covering one week
• your passport and latest Nepal visa
• marriage and birth certificates, for dependents
• a progress report, for renewal

The Department's fee table shows the Study rate for Bangladeshis as "$15/yr - Bangladeshi" ². Check with the Department whether that is charged per year or per month, because the unit was not clear in the sources. No study visa processing time was found, and it is not confirmed whether a student applying from Bangladesh goes through the embassy or the Department ¹².

Tracking

The Department of Immigration runs an online visa application tracking page ³. Its inputs and status wording could not be read, so they are not described here ³.
