Philippines student visa 9(f) and eVisaPH status from Bangladesh
Last checked against official sources on
The Philippine student visa is the 9(f). The Bureau of Immigration (BI) grants it to foreign nationals aged 18 or over who will take a course above high school at a university, seminary or college 1.
The 9(f) at the Bureau of Immigration
The BI page describes a conversion to 9(f), filed at the BI Main Office or another authorised immigration office 1. You fill in form CGAF-003Rev2_2023, follow checklist V-NI-005-Rev-1, pass pre-screening at the Central Receiving Unit, pay the fees and give your photo and fingerprints for the ACR I-Card, the foreigner's ID card 1. You then check the BI website for approval and hand in your passport so the visa can be placed in it 1.
Conversion fees total PHP 9,720, plus USD 50 for the ACR I-Card. An extension costs PHP 4,020 and needs a hearing 1. The BI says these fees date from 06 March 2014 and may change, so confirm them before paying 1.
eVisaPH is for visits, not study
eVisaPH covers business, pleasure, medical treatment, training, conferences, meetings and workshops 2. A visitor e-Visa takes 7 to 12 working days for a single entry and 15 to 21 working days for multiple entry 2. It cannot be converted to another visa type or extended; a regular visa sticker is needed for a later conversion 2. Fees are non-refundable and must be paid within 48 hours 2.
You see an eVisaPH result through the "Application Status" feature of your account and by email 2. The Verifier page checks an issued e-visa by its control number or QR code 3.
The BI page does not say how a student outside the Philippines first enters, so ask the Philippine embassy which route applies to you.
Have your eVisa control number or your eVisaPH login ready for the status check above.
