Singapore Student's Pass for Bangladeshi students: SOLAR, the entry visa and the one-week target
Last checked against official sources on
A Singapore Student's Pass is applied for online, and you do not need to be in Singapore to do it. Either you or your school submits the application through the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) e-service called SOLAR 1. ICA aims to reply within one week, or within two weeks if a visa is required, not counting the day you submit. It adds that some applications take longer. The page carries an as-of date of 19 June 2026 1. This is the route for Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL). The page for private education institutions, which have longer processing, was not covered 1.
Two separate approvals
A student from Bangladesh may need two things.
- The Student's Pass. Apply at least two months and no more than three months before the course starts 1. The processing fee is S$45 and is not refundable 1.
- An entry visa. ICA says: "You will need a visa to enter Singapore if you are holding a travel document issued by this country." 2 It is submitted online through a strategic partner or a local contact in Singapore 2. The fee is S$30, not refundable, and the target is three working days, though some take longer 12. ICA's visa page covers business and social visits and does not mention the Student's Pass 2.
What the Student's Pass application asks for

Checking the status
