The Korean embassy in Dhaka takes student visa applications itself, and the page says: "Applicants must visit in person to submit visa application." 1 The Consular Section is at 4 Madani Avenue, Baridhara, Dhaka-1212, open Sunday to Thursday, 09:00 to 12:30 and 13:30 to 17:00 1. Before you go, fill in the e-Form (Visa) on the Korea Visa Portal and print the barcoded form. The e-Form has been required since 4 May 2025 1. Submit at least five days before the term starts 1. The Dhaka page is dated 2021-02-07 but carries the 2025 e-Form notice, so confirm details with the embassy 1.

Checking your application on visa.go.kr
Korean embassies say they do not give status by phone, and you will not get an email or call when the visa is issued. The portal is the route 4. On the Korea Visa Portal status inquiry you choose the application type, then enter the application, passport or receipt number depending on type, your English name as in the passport machine-readable zone, and your date of birth 2. For applications at an overseas mission it shows the application number, date, visa type, progress status, review date and, if refused, the reasons 2.
Three messages are quoted on the page 2:
- "여권교부" means the passport has been released and can be collected. The portal states this for visa application centre applicants 2.
- "허가/불허" means a decision is made, either approved or refused. The passport cannot be retrieved while this shows, so wait for 여권교부 2.
- "조회된 데이터가 없습니다." means no data matched. Check the application type, number, spelling of your name and date of birth 2.
The portal's full list of progress values was not found 2.
How long it takes
No Dhaka figure is published that we found. The Korean embassy in Finland says D-2 issuance takes 3 to 4 weeks from the application date when all documents are in. That is Finland's figure, not Dhaka's, and it shows no date 3.
Have your application number and the passport name spelling ready for the status check above.
