In the UAE, a student can stay under the sponsorship of a UAE-resident parent or of the accredited university or college, and universities facilitate the visa process 1. The federal authority behind student visas is the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) 1.
The one document the official page names is a certificate from the university or institute stating the duration of study, plus other general provisions 1. The page does not publish fees or processing times.
Expatriate residents can sponsor male children up to age 25, and older male students with proof of attendance at a higher education institute 1. Female children can be sponsored for study regardless of age until they marry 1. The Golden visa is issued to outstanding students 1.
The ICP home page lists entry permits for tourism, visit or treatment 2. A student entry permit is not listed there 2. Its Check Application Status tool asks for a PRAN, IDN or request number 2.
