Uzbekistan e-visa and student visas for Bangladeshis: STD and A-1 explained
Last checked against official sources on
Bangladesh is on the Uzbekistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs list of countries whose citizens can get an electronic visa, but that e-visa does not cover study 1. The e-visa is for visits. Student visas are non-electronic and tied to an educational institution 1.
The two student visas
There are two categories for study. The STD visa is for short-term exchange study of up to 1 year. The A-1 visa is for a study period of up to 1 year 1. Both are non-electronic 1.
The ministry page does not list the documents for these visas, and it does not say how a Bangladeshi applicant applies (through an embassy or on an invitation from the institution). We also could not confirm from an official source which embassy serves Bangladesh. Ask your Uzbek university to explain the route in writing.
The e-visa, for comparison
The online e-visa is at e-visa.gov.uz 1. A single-entry e-visa costs USD 20 1. The ministry says it considers written applications within 4 working days, or 3 days if you also hold a visa for the country you travel on to 1. That timing is for visitor applications, not student visas 1.
Do not apply for the e-visa as a shortcut for a course. It is the wrong category for study.
If you applied for an e-visa, have your application reference ready for the status check above.
