Check your Beninvisa application status.

Benin runs an online e-Visa at evisa.bj for any foreigner who wants to visit. Africans can visit without a visa for 90 days ³. The platform describes visit e-Visas only. It does not set out student or long-stay visa rules, so ask Benin's authorities about those before you plan a course.

How the application runs

You start with your email, travel document number and its expiry date. A confirmation link comes by email, then a four-step form, then payment, then an application number by email ³². The government calls issuance an automated process ¹. Processing can take "une heure à 96 heures", which means from one hour to 96 hours ¹.

Dates and validity

Apply at least 7 days before you enter Benin, but not more than 90 days before ¹. The e-Visa is valid for the 30 or 90 days you choose, counted from the entry date you give in the application ³¹. It cannot be changed after it is issued, and refunds are not possible ¹. If it expires while you are in Benin, contact the Direction de l'Emigration et de l'Immigration about an extension ¹.

Fees

An article posted on 11 December 2020 lists these fees in euros, so check the current price on the site. Applying yourself: 50 for 30 days single entry, 75 for 30 days multiple entry, 100 for 90 days multiple entry. Applying via an embassy: 60, 85 and 110 ⁴.

Paying

The platform accepts 3D Secure Visa and Mastercard cards and mobile money, including MTN Benin, MTN Cote d'Ivoire, Moov Benin and Moov Togo, plus other listed West African networks ².

Tracking

Use "Suivre votre demande" (Track your application) on evisa.bj. It needs the application number sent to your email after payment ². I did not confirm what wording the tracker shows. The pages I used do not say if Bangladeshi passports are visa-exempt or which Benin mission serves Bangladesh.
