Last checked against official sources on
The Embassy of Côte d'Ivoire is at E 9/13, Block E, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi 110057, and its "Zone de couverture" lists Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and India. You must appear in person with your documents 1. Payment and the form go through snedai.com. The embassy is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 17:00 1. SNEDAI's page says applications are made in the country of residence, fees are not refunded, and SNEDAI's site is the only officially recognised visa application site 3.
Embassy visa for study
The embassy visa for "études ou recherches" (study or research) costs 50 euros 2. The embassy visa covers any stay from 1 day to 3 months, and an appointment is compulsory at www.snedai-visardv.ci 3. The documents are:
- a Certificat d'inscription or pre-inscription at a university or public institution in Côte d'Ivoire
- your latest school certificate or student card, and your most recent diplomas
- proof of housing, such as a lease or dormitory certificate
- proof of funds or a scholarship letter; students without a scholarship need 1 000 000 FCFA for one year of study
- health insurance
- for everyone: the original online payment receipt, the appointment confirmation, the signed form, one 5 x 7 cm photo, and a passport valid at least 6 months with copies of the first three pages 2
A yellow fever certificate is also listed 3. Processing is within 48 hours after enrolment 2.
The e-visa
The e-visa is for ordinary passports only. It is valid 3 months with multiple entries and costs 73 euros including bank charges. You need the passport identity page, proof of a return flight booking, and an invitation letter or accommodation certificate 3. The e-visa page names no student category, so ask the embassy which route fits a study stay 3.
How the decision reaches you
There is no tracker. E-visa applicants receive an emailed document with a barcode, which is the authority's answer: "approuvée ou refusée" (approved or refused) 3. The answer usually comes within 48 working hours, Monday to Friday, but may take longer, and an approved pre-enrolment is valid for 3 months 3. If approved, you enrol at the airport or border with the listed documents 3. For questions, call the SNEDAI infoline on (00225) 27 22 51 08 08, Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00 3.
Watch the email address you used for the application; the decision arrives there.
