Dominican Republic student visa (E): US$100 and required documents
Last checked against official sources on
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX) lists a Student visa (E) valid for one year with multiple entries 1. The consular fee table puts the Student visa (E) at US$100.00 2.
Where to apply
MIREX says foreigners entering the country need a visa unless their nationality has a tourism visa-waiver agreement. You contact the Dominican embassy or consulate nearest your residence or assigned jurisdiction, in person or by email at relexteriores@mirex.gob.do. MIREX decides through its embassies and consulates. The page does not mention Bangladesh and does not name a mission for Bangladeshi applicants 1.
Documents MIREX lists for the student visa
- visa application form
- a 2 x 2 inch photo
- passport valid at least six months
- birth certificate, legalised or apostilled
- criminal record certificate (not for minors)
- proof of financial support for the studies (parents, guardian or scholarship)
- medical certificate showing no contagious infectious disease
- any current or expired Dominican or other countries' visas
- proof of acceptance from a Dominican university or institution 1
Time
MIREX gives 10 to 20 working days for its general visa service. This is not a student-specific figure 1.
Ask the embassy that takes your file whether you are exempt from the visa and which mission handles your case.
