Check your Peruvisa application status.

Peru's student route is the formation or student visa (visa de formacion o estudiante) ². The enrolment certificate must come from a study centre recognised by the state and show a duration of one year or more ¹².

The other documents are the application form for migratory status, payment of the fee, a copy of the passport, and proof of the study modality ². You also need a document from the competent authority showing no judicial, criminal or police record in your country of origin or residence for the five years before arrival, and a sworn declaration of financial solvency for the whole stay ¹². For minors a parent or guardian signs it ¹².

Migraciones, Peru's immigration authority, grants the status online, and the applicant must be outside Peru when it is obtained ². Foreign documents must be legalised by the Peruvian consulate and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or apostilled, and translated into Spanish by a sworn translator ².

On where to file, the foreign ministry's student-visa page says to apply at the Peruvian consulate general responsible for your region ¹. For this procedure it lists only the consulates in Paris, Mexico and Tokyo ¹. The page was last changed on 14 May 2026 ¹. For tourist and business visas the rule is stricter: applications may only be submitted at the Embassy of Peru in New Delhi ³. There, nationals of Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka must give a police clearance certificate, the fee is INR 3000 in cash, and decisions take 7 to 10 working days for Indian nationals after the interview, with non-Indians possibly waiting about 10 more working days ³. It is not confirmed that this New Delhi rule applies to student visas. The student visa fee and processing time were not shown.

The Migraciones procedure tracker asks for the procedure (tramite) number, first surname, given names, and one verification question that changes each visit: date of birth, date of last entry or nationality ⁴. A wrong security image gives "El código de imagen es incorrecto." ⁴

Have your tramite number and passport surname ready for the status check above.
