Andorra does not issue visas. The Andorran Ministry of Foreign Affairs says: "The Principality of Andorra does not require any type of visa." It also says Andorra is not part of the Schengen Area and that you reach it through France or Spain ¹.

The visa you need is French or Spanish

If you need a Schengen visa to cross France or Spain into Andorra, the ministry tells third-country nationals to ask the French or Spanish embassy or consulate, depending on where you enter ¹. A Schengen visa is the short-stay visa for the Schengen countries. For Andorra the ministry says applicants ask for a double-entry or multiple-entry Schengen visa, depending on how many times they will enter the Schengen area from Andorra ¹. Because those embassies decide, any status check happens with them, not with Andorra ¹.

Studying in Andorra

The permit for students is an immigration authorisation for studies, training placements, high-level sports training or research, issued by Govern d'Andorra ². The initial application asks for ²:

• documents proving you are a student or researcher only (the Govern page is in Catalan)
• an enrolment document and the calendar of your planned studies
• documents showing the content and length of the studies
• for a minor: a form signed by the parent or legal guardian, their written authorisation, and proof of their income and minimum housing conditions
