Czech study visa for Bangladeshis: the New Delhi booking queue and 2027 dates
Last checked against official sources on
On this page
The Czech Embassy in New Delhi accepts a maximum of 360 study applications through its booking system in 2027, and Bangladeshi citizens have their own study booking by email 1. Check the registration date for your intake before anything else.
How the booking works
Bangladeshi citizens apply in person at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi, by appointment. Residents of Bangladesh with a long-term or permanent residence permit held for at least two years use the same route. The booking is by email to newdelhi.visa@mzv.gov.cz 1. The embassy page lists a Czech Honorary Consulate in Dhaka but does not say it accepts applications 1.
The rules for the email, as the Embassy states them 1:
- Send it only in the stated window, 11:00 to 17:00 Indian time.
- One email per applicant. The subject line is the passport number only.
- Attach PDFs of the passport data page, proof of the purpose of stay, and the residence permit if you have one.
- If you get no confirmation within 7 days, the registration failed.
- Assigned dates cannot be changed.
2027 registration dates
The page was last updated on 16 October 2026 1. Registration opens on these dates for these months of 2027:
- 7 December 2026: January to March
- 8 March: April and May
- 3 May: June
- 7 June: July
- 7 July: August
- 2 August: September
- 6 September: October to December
An older embassy page, marked expired on 23 May 2026, said appointments for Bangladeshi nationals come with 1 to 2 months notice because of the situation in Bangladesh. It put the average wait at 7 to 30 days 3.
The visa and what to bring
The route is a long-term visa or a long-term residence permit for study 2. The Embassy lists 2:
- The original travel document and one photograph.
- Proof of accommodation.
- A document confirming the purpose of stay, which is study.
- Proof of funds.
- A criminal record extract from your country of citizenship.
- Parental consent if you are a minor.
- Copies of all documents, and the visa fee. Documents should generally be no more than 180 days old, except the travel document and photograph.
Bangladeshi public documents need superlegalization, which the Czech Embassy provides. India uses an apostille instead 1. The study fee amount is not on the pages the Embassy points to 2.
Time to a decision
The decision deadline is 60 days from filing, for both the long-term visa and the residence permit for study. If the proceedings are suspended, the deadline extends 2. The pages do not say who makes the decision 2.
Tracking
The Ministry of the Interior runs an application status page called "Status of your Application" on its Official Information Portal for Foreigners 4. The page text could not be read, so no status wording is available here.
Short-stay visa numbers, not study visas
The EU figures for the Czech consulate in New Delhi cover short-stay Schengen (type C) visas of all purposes and all nationalities. They are not study visas and not Bangladesh figures. In 2025, 27,317 were applied for, 21,826 issued and 5,489 not issued, a not-issued share of about 20% 5. In 2024 it was 19,947 applied, 15,659 issued and 4,280 not issued, about 21% 6.
Have your passport number ready: it is the subject line of your booking email 1.
