France visa from Dhaka: France-Visas tracking and 2024 short-stay numbers
Last checked against official sources on
Where you track a French visa depends on which visa centre took your file 1. At a CAPAGO centre you need your file reference and email address. At a TLS centre you log in to your TLS account. At a VFS centre you need the reference number you were given and your surname. If none of these apply, you use your France-Visas user account 1.
What the tracker shows
France-Visas shows the progress of your application 1. It also states that it cannot give any detail on whether the visa will be issued ("aucune precision ne pourra etre apportee sur la delivrance ou non du visa sollicite") 1. A change in the tracker therefore tells you about progress, not about the outcome.
Applying from Bangladesh
The French embassy page says you file online on France-Visas and then deposit the file in person at the visa centre. It does not name the centre for Bangladesh 2. You can file up to six months before departure, and the page warns that appointment booking and review can lengthen the process depending on location and season 2. The embassy page does not say who decides applications in Dhaka 2.
Short-stay visa numbers for Dhaka
These are European Commission figures for Schengen short-stay (type C) visas at the French consulate in Dhaka in 2024, for all purposes. They do not cover national long-stay student visas 3. The consulate had 4,150 applications, issued 2,291 uniform visas and did not issue 1,821 3. Dividing not issued by applied gives 1,821 / 4,150, about 44%, but the file counts decisions made in the year, so the two totals do not match exactly 3. This is a short-stay refusal share, not a student-visa refusal rate.
Have your reference number from the visa centre ready for the status check above.
