Spain student visa from Dhaka: conflicting pages, RESUELTO and the one-month rule
Last checked against official sources on
On this page
The legal period for Spain's Dhaka consular office to decide a student visa is one month, counted from the day after you submit. The time can be extended if an interview or more documents are requested 1. The visa is the student visa (SLU) for stays of more than 180 days 13.
Where to apply: two pages disagree
The embassy's student page says to submit in person at the Visa Application Centre with an appointment, and the requirements PDF says the fee is paid at BLS 13. The BLS Bangladesh page says family members of Spanish resident-card holders, students and work-permit seekers apply directly at the Embassy of Spain in Dhaka and book by phone between 14:00 and 15:30 2. Confirm with the embassy before you travel. The decision belongs to the Embassy of Spain in Dhaka 1.
Fee
The fee is "equivalent to 80 euros". The page says Bangladeshi nationals are subject to a different reciprocity rate, so confirm the amount with the consular office 1.

Tracking and what the words mean
You track with the BLS Spain "Track Application" page and the Spanish consular portal, Sutramite Consular, using the receipt reference (resguardo) code from your consular receipt 245. The portal shows whether your file is pending or resolved 4. The wording below comes from the Ottawa consulate's page, because Dhaka's pages do not publish it 4.
- "RESUELTO": a decision exists. The visa was granted or denied, and the word alone does not say which. Collect your passport as instructed on the receipt or by the visa centre 4.
- "EN TRAMITACIÓN, Pendiente de trámite": in progress, waiting on an answer from Spain to some consultation. Supply anything the consulate asks for 4.
- "EN TRAMITACIÓN, Pendiente de resolución": in progress, waiting for the Consul's decision 4.
- "EN TRAMITACIÓN, Pendiente de expedición": in progress, waiting for the visa sticker to be issued 4.
The statuses shown on the BLS tracker itself were not found 2.
If it is refused
You can ask the consular office to reconsider within 1 month of being notified. Or you can go to the High Court of Justice of Madrid for judicial review within 2 months 1.
